I’ve been reading about my friend Desiree’s kitchen makeover on her blog Vosges Paris, and I’ve been extremely curious to see the final results. I had seen a few photos, but here is the full picture, shown for the first time.
Three cups for three little bears. My order from Finnish Design Shop arrived and kids have their own cups now.
‘Lempi’ is a new universal drinking glass designed by Matti Klenell for Iittala. It is designed for the modern kitchen which often has limited storage space. This stackable glass not only saves space but also looks great on an open shelf: the round shape invites you to take hold of it.
Arabia, whose roots and home in Helsinki go back to 1873, drew inspiration from the Finnish capital being named the World Design Capital. The mug collection is based on Kaj Franck’s minimalist, and for its time, radical design of 1952. Miira Zukale, who graduated from the School of Art and Design in 2007, designed the decorations, reflecting the cheerful, cosy atmosphere of Arabia’s home town.
